What is RTK?

RTK, or Real-Time Kinematic, is a GNSS correction method that delivers sub-inch accuracy by comparing satellite signals between a fixed base station and your equipment.

RTK provides sub-inch accuracy that supports every pass, every field, and every phase of your operation. DigiFarm RTK delivers reliable, repeatable positioning so you can operate with confidence, reduce waste, and maximize efficiency season after season.

DigiFarm connects a network of base stations across regions and delivers those corrections over cellular, giving you consistent, repeatable accuracy without the cost and maintenance of a single base setup.

What Makes DigiFarm RTK Different: Our Virtual Base Network (VBN)

A Virtual Base Network, or VBN, uses multiple fixed base stations to create a “virtual” reference point. Instead of relying on a single base station, your receiver gets correction data from several stations at once, improving accuracy, reliability and consistency across your entire working area.

Unlike a traditional RTK setup that relies on a single physical base station, DigiFarm uses a network of reference stations to deliver corrections across a much larger area with greater reliability and consistency.

When you turn on your GPS, your receiver sends its location to the DigiFarm network. Our system then creates a virtual base station positioned right near you, instead of relying on one fixed base miles away. This virtual base provides corrections tailored specifically to your GPS receiver, giving you more accurate and more consistent performance across the field.

Because DigiFarm is a true VBN provider, our network is designed to support both horizontal and vertical accuracy, including the precision required for applications like water management and drainage. You’re fully covered by DigiFarm’s network to meet today’s precision ag demands.

To connect to the DigiFarm VBN and start receiving corrections, an active DigiFarm subscription is required.

Why VBN Matters

One of the biggest benefits of a VBN is reliability.

  • You always have survey‑grade accuracy because your virtual base is continuously created from multiple nearby reference stations.
  • If a single station loses power, internet, or is damaged, your service does not stop. The network automatically adjusts and continues delivering corrections.
  • You can move freely throughout the coverage area without switching bases, mount points, or network IDs

The DigiFarm Difference

Not all VBN networks are built the same. DigiFarm focuses on performance where it counts:

  • Stronger network design for better accuracy
  • Freedom from brand lock-in
  • No hardware or financial headaches from maintaining your own base
  • Responsive support from real people when you’re having problems
